Bellerive Oval, long the home of Tasmanian cricket, could be sold off as the sporting body eyes relocation.

Cricket Tasmania will request government funding for a new home of cricket in Hobart, but would at least partially fund the project itself through the sale of Bellerive Oval infrastructure.

Cricket's governing body wants to vacate Bellerive Oval before it commits to shifting its highest drawing games to the prospective Macquarie Point stadium.
